Alas, 2018 has finally come to an end and we all want to start the New Year strong, but there is a stampede coming our way.  It feels similar to my travels to Nepal, a beautiful country; home to the Himalayas, tigers, Buddhism, and the Indian elephant.  While my family and I were in Nepal, we took a safari tour of the jungles in the Bardia National Park.  Within the park, we camped out on a river and each morning and evening we went out on a drive in search for some of Nepal’s most exotic animals.  We were lucky enough to see a herd of 22 Indian elephants on the second day of our safari.   Now, most people may think elephants are harmless creatures and will not attack a human because our size ratio shows no threat to the elephant, but they are actually very territorial.  So, our driver tried to maintain a safe distance, especially from the bull (male elephant).  But unfortunately, we pushed our luck and got a little too close to the elephants and the bull did in fact charge at our vehicle.  It is quite a terrifying sight to see  a  full sized bull that weighs around 10,000 pounds charging 30 mph directly at you!
